Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2

Video Synopsis: The seasonal Watch Mod system in The Division 2 F2P version connects The Summit’s endgame challenges with targeted build crafting. Players earn Summit Points by clearing standard and boss floors, then allocate those points to gear-set talents, Exotic weapon talents, or broader offensive and defensive attributes.

Each season highlights selected build paths, giving newer players clear progression goals and returning players fresh combinations to pursue. Seasonal resets renew the progression loop and encourage continued experimentation. This video demonstrates how the feature unlocks, where it appears in the inventory, how points are earned and spent, and how its upgrade paths support different playstyles.

Mainly focused on seasonal mod design, exotic weapon design, player experience improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Fully in charge of the seasonal mods (aka Summit/Watch Mods in the beta version of the game) design and implementation for the NEW Chinese version of The Division 2. The seasonal mods are a crucial part of the main gameplay loop, serving to improve the end-game player experience and the build guideline of the game season.
  • Adjustments and adaptations for a better game experience with the F2P version include new game content, adjusted core game loop, and better first-time user experience.
  • Responsible for designing new exotic weapons within the games
  • Cooperative work on weapon attribute configuration

Watch (Seasonal) Mods:

  • The Watch Mods system is a highly integrated system tied closely to the Summit. Agents can use Summit points earned by challenging the Summit to personalize enhancements within the Watch system.
  • The Watch system is located in the bottom right corner of the inventory. Upon clicking, agents can see their current Summit Level.
  • Climbing the Summit Tower allows agents to unlock more Summit points. These points can be used within the Watch system to enhance agents’ abilities (attributes), builds, and even weapon talents.

There are two types of abilities that can be enhanced: equipment enhancements and attribute enhancements.

  • Equipment enhancement includes Gear Talent Enhancement and Weapon Talent Enhancement, including upgraded talent and brand new designed talents, with the Watch system selecting builds or exotic weapons and specialization talents each season for enhancement. When properly combined in a build, enhanced weapon and gear can often unleash explosive damage output for agents.

Attribute enhancement is further divided into Attack Enhancement and Defense Enhancement, benefiting all types of builds. For agents who have not yet established their own builds, attribute enhancement can greatly improve their offensive and defensive capabilities. Later on, even after agents have developed a complete loadout, they can still hold “F” to reset and reallocate points.
